Guide

The soccer name generator creates fictional player names and original club names for custom rosters, career modes, stories, and tabletop leagues. Player mode mixes several international naming styles, while club mode pairs invented place names with familiar structures such as United, Athletic, Rovers, Real, Sporting, and Inter.

Results are not copied from a player or club directory. Accidental matches remain possible, so verify a final choice before publishing a game, book, or commercial league.

How to use it

  1. Select Player names when filling a squad, or Club names when building teams and competitions. Keeping each batch to one mode makes the list easier to compare.
  2. Choose 5, 10, or 15 results, then press Generate names. Repeat the process to create reserves, academy players, rivals, or clubs from another fictional region.
  3. Copy a single result beside its row, or use Copy all to paste the batch into a roster sheet, save file, tournament bracket, or story outline.

Tips for picking a good name

  • Keep player names distinct within a squad, especially at the same position or with similar shirt numbers.
  • Match the club suffix to its setting; Town suggests a different history from Racing or Metropolitan.
  • Read commentary lines aloud to test how a player's full name sounds during fast action.
  • Search club finalists alongside the word football to catch accidental matches with small or historic teams.
  • Build regional consistency with several related place-name sounds instead of assigning every club a different linguistic style.

The generator runs entirely in the browser. Curated first names, invented surnames, fictional places, and club suffixes are selected through weighted random patterns, and no names are stored.
